The short version

Anguleris is a 15-year, architect-founded construction technology company and the parent of BIMsmith, Swatchbox, Modlar, Archbase, and Gaudi AI. Through Swatchbox, we put building product samples in the hands of architects and designers at the biggest firms in the world, and a lot of those samples are made, cut, finished, and assembled by hand in our State St. shop.

This is a making job. The things you produce get shipped to designers whose entire profession is noticing details, so the standard is simple: work you'd be proud to sign.

What you'll do

Fabricate samples to spec. You'll turn manufacturer materials into finished sample products using the shop's tools and equipment. We'll train you on our processes; you bring the hands and the attention.

Hit the standard every time. Clean cuts, square corners, consistent finishes, correct labels. The hundredth piece should look like the first one, and the first one should look good.

Work safe. Tools are respected here, procedures are followed, and nobody is ever in enough of a hurry to skip either. You'll help keep it that way.

Keep the shop right. Materials stocked, stations clean, blades and bits where they belong. A tight shop is a fast shop, and everyone here pushes brooms, including the founders.

Make it better. If a jig would save an hour or a process step keeps producing rework, speak up. The people at the bench see what the office can't, and we want what you see.

Who does well here

Shop, trades, or warehouse experience is preferred, but the pattern matters more than the résumé:

• You're good with your hands. You've built, fixed, cut, or assembled things, at work or on your own time, and it shows.
• You have an eye. Crooked, chipped, smudged, or off-spec work bothers you before anyone points it out.
• You're consistent. Quality that shows up on Monday and disappears by Thursday isn't quality. You hold the line all week.
• You close loops. A job on your bench gets finished, checked, and moved on, not left for the next shift to discover.
• You're safe and steady. You follow procedure without being reminded and keep your head when the shop gets busy.

What this role is not

• It is not rough-and-ready production work. Our output goes to designers, and it's judged like it.
• It is not a heads-down-forever job. Good work gets noticed here, and people who master the shop get more responsibility, not more of the same.

Practical details

• Full-time, onsite at our State St. facility in Elgin, IL.
• Physical work: on your feet, working with tools, materials, and equipment through the day.
